In 1788, John Gearhart moved to Decatur Twp., Clearfield Co.,Pennsylvania, clearing a farm near Osceola. Later he and Cathering movedto Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, where he died. John was buried in MudChurchyard, Union Church Cemetery. John served in the Revolutionary Waras Ensign in the Lancaster Militia in the 3rd Company. Catherine died atthe home of her son, Jacob, in Decatur Twp., Pennsylvania, and also wasburied in Mud Churchyard at Philipsburg.

William Thompson, Sr., came from Ireland to Chester County, Pennsylvania,about 1745. He moved to Hopewell Twp. (Cumberland Co., now Franklin Co.)in 1746. In 1772, he moved to Mifflin Co. In 1793, he sold his farm tohis son John but made his home with John and died there. He was buriedin Nittany Valley, Pennsylvania, near the Hecla Furnace site. His wifedied before 1793.
