Roy E. Brakefield was born 1 on 24 Mar 1926. He died on 28 Dec 2000 in Potosi, Missouri (Washington County). He was buried on 30 Dec 2000 in Lost Creek Cemetery (Near Shirley, Missouri). He married Ruby Pannell.
Roy E. Brakefield passed away Thursday, December 28, 2000 at hisresidence in Potosi, Mo., at the age of 74 years, 9 months and 4 days. Hewas born March 24, 1926 at Ishmael, Mo., to the late Noah and Nettie(White) Brakefield.
He was united in marriage to Ruby Pannell on February 14, 1953, inArkansas, and six children were born to this union. Mr. Brakefield knewthe Lord as his Savior and was a member of the Ozark Heights BaptistChurch since 1981. He had worked at General Motors for many years untilhis retirement.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters,Pearl Marie Brakefield and Ruby Ferguson and five brothers, Earnest,Jimmie, Clyde, Lennie and Lawrence Brakefield.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his loving and devoted wife,Ruby Brakefield, Potosi; two sons and their wives, Roy Lynn and AltheaBrakefield of Frankclay and Wayne and Dee Brakefield of Potosi; fourdaughters and their husbands, Lela and Joe Tinker of Doe Run; Erma andWilliam Gee of Salem; Birdie and Derk Jones of Grants, New Mexico and JoAnn and Rick Rulo of Cadet; two sisters, Dollie Moses of Potosi andAlvenia Moses of Bland, Mo.; 16 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren,nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 A.M. Saturday, December 30, 2000,at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, with Rev. Ray Thurman officiating. Servingas pallbearers were: Jimmy Brakefield, Ricky Rulo, Allen Jones, PatrickGee, Bryan Gee and Jason Gee.
Interment was in Lost Creek Cemetery, Highway. 8 West of Shirley, underthe direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
