He apparently Followed his Brothers to Upper Louisiana Territory (Cape
Girardeau District) soon after. May have traveled with his wife's
family, as other Smiths from NC were documented around that time in the
same area of MO.
We have found his wife's tombstone but no trace of his grave. It
is quite possible that he is buried near his wife, as there are traces of
